Liz Russell is a South Australian artist who lives and works in the Adelaide Hills.
Liz has a background in working with clay, having completed a Bachelor of Design in Ceramics in 1985 and subsequently producing a range of functional ware as a tenant at JamFactory. Since then, however, she has rediscovered her love of drawing, and has gone on to explore printmaking processes. Her current work uses the lino printing technique, with a focus on strong composition and vigourous mark making.
Whilst walking in her local area, Liz is drawn to the botanical details of the plants around her: this inspires her artwork, conveying a sense of joy and appreciation for the natural world.
